Features:
=========
This release contains the following features/ limitations/ known issues.
Please report any sightings through the Intel Premier Support process.

    - The driver supports internal LVDS, SDVO, DDC, EDID (detection), 2D,
      D3D (DirectX* 9.0C), OpenGL 2.0 (XP), OpenGL 2.1 (Linux), OpenVG 1.1 (Linux),
      OpenGL-ES 1.1 and 2.0, hardware video decode and Overlay framebuffer alpha
      blending capabilities.

    - The driver is pre-configured to turn on SDVO as PRIMARY and Internal LVDS as
      SECONDARY Display. Internal LVDS default resolution as 1366 x 768 for E6xx and
      10x7 for US15W.

    - The driver supports Power Management (Standby and Hibernate) on SDVO and LVDS
      for Windows and Linux operating systems.

    - MPlayer and GStreamer are the players used for video decode in Linux. Please
      refer to the User Guide for more detailed information.

    - Video encode through USB camera capability (for Intel(R) Atom(TM) processor E6xx
      Series only). Setup instructions are provided in the User Guide.

    - Texture streaming support for Intel(R) Atom(TM) processor E6xx Series (B1 stepping)
      platform.

    - Supports LVDS panel brightness configuration at BIOS boot via 5F61, 08H function call
      and CED configuration.

    - Colorkey enabled when terminal window is on top of Media Player window using XV path.

    - The driver supports Vertical Extended Mode for MeeGo* 1.2 OS

    - The driver supports changing from DIH/Vertical Extended Mode to Clone mode during
      runtime for MeeGo* 1.2 OS.

    - GStreamer vaimagesink plugin supports LIBVA and RGB Pixel format.

    - The driver supports direct DMA to Overlay functionality for optimized performance for
      external video inputs for MeeGo* 1.2 OS.

    - The driver supports independent freeze framebuffer API at runtime for MeeGo* 1.2 OS.

    - Enabled option for manual selection of video overlay plane or sprite C through
      escape API. The escape API will allow a user to choose the preferred overlay plane
      based on pixel format for MeeGo* 1.2 OS.

    - Supports EGL API version 1.4.

    - Supports PVRTC compressed texture Format GL_IMG_Texture.

    - The driver supports YPbPr for Chrontel CH7022.

    - Added option to allow 100 MHz clock input for SSC enabled platforms (specific to
      US15W/WP/WPT platform)

    - Wayland for MeeGo* 1.2 kernel 2.6.37 and above.
      Note: MeeGo 1.2 with Wayland feature is mainly for evaluation and testing purposes,
       it is not for production usage.)

    - EMGD supports setting display rotation and flip based on the DID physical orientation
      information.

      Please refer to the FAQ which is available at
      http://edc.intel.com/Software/Downloads/EMGD/#faqs

Limitations:
============
    - Windows* 7 or Windows Embedded Compact* 7 is not supported in this version of the
      driver.For more information about Windows* 7/WEC* 7 support, please refer to
      Intel(R) EMGD v1.14 for Windows* 7/WEC* 7 release package.

    - vBIOS does not support CH7036. For assistance enabling display output for your specific
      configuration through CH7036 LVDS Bypass/HDMI/VGA port during BIOS boot prior to the
      OS being loaded, please contact Chrontel.

    - Information related to MeeGo* 1.2 Wayland in User Guide Section 7.7 is specifically
      targeted for customers or users that already have MeeGo* 1.2 Wayland setup, the feature
      is mainly for evaluation and testing purposes. Note for Wayland Compositor setup,
      the GEM and EMGDGUI is not supported.

Known Issues:
=============
    - Please refer to the Specification Update of the driver release for more
      detailed information about the driver known sightings and possible
      resolutions. The Specification Update can be obtained from Intel Premier Support
      or http://edc.intel.com/Software/Downloads/EMGD/ website.

    - The EMGD CED cannot build 64K VBIOS for the Intel(R) Atom(TM) processor E6xx Series
      (through adding flag "-64VBIOS" in emgd_ced.ini). You will notice a message
      "GenerationException: VBIOS not built". EMGD1.14 64K vBIOS for Intel(R) Atom(TM)
      processor E6xx Series no longer available due to file size constraint as new features
      added in VBIOS increased the file size over 64K. If you require a 64K VBIOS, please
      consider using EMGD v1.10.

Getting Started
===============
Please follow each dedicated OS section for the installation instructions.

=======
Windows
=======

Windows* System Requirements
============================
The development system should have one the following Windows operating
systems installed.

	Microsoft* Windows XP Professional* SP3

Supported Players
=================
Supported players are Windows Media Player* 11 and PowerDVD* 8.

For PowerDVD 8, the supported version is OEM build 3204.

PowerDVD 8
===========
By default, PowerDVD 8 uses blend/composite display mode. To enable overlay mode
for improved video performance, edit the registry settings as follows:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> Cyberlink-> PDVD8

Create a variable named Dx_ForceVideoRenderer and give it a value of 2.
To switch back to blend/composite, change the value of said variable to 3.

Installation and Uninstallation
================================

Please see the User Guide for detailed installation instructions.

End Windows

 the "Supported Operating Systems" section.

Linux: Installation
===================
Please see the User Guide for detailed installation instructions.

Linux: FAQ
==========

Q: In MeeGo 1.2, I'm getting errors related to libva and missing files.
A: Check that your environment variable 'LIBVA_DRIVERS_PATH' is not set. If it is, unset it.
e.g., `unset LIBVA_DRIVERS_PATH`

Q: When installing GStreamer in MeeGo*, I get the 'fedora repo not found' error.
A: Make sure you decompressed the files from the / directory.

Q: I installed the EMGD RPM in MeeGo* 1.2, but it's not working!
A: The full installation process involves more than just the RPM installation.
   Please see the User Guide for the complete process.

End Linux
